The thought of a kitty being left out in the cold should make everyone shiver with sadness. There's a reason why those types of places don't usually have a lot of feral animals, and the cold is one good reason. I grew up in sunny California so the thought that the weather could be that cold is so unusual for me. It's bizarre, and I think it could be novel for a short time, but would get so tiring to have to dress up so much in long pants and socks and boots just to go outside at all. How does one even take the trash out? A lot of times in those places there's so many unique things about the city that they do to keep everything functioning. They even leave their cars running at all times because the engine might freeze if they don't. And bus stops could have a warm waiting room because you can get frostbite if you just stand in the cold for too long.
